Tata Motors launched the Indigo CS at the Auto Expo 2008 in New Delhi and till then it is selling in good numbers and has been very well received by the Indian customers who want a sedan but don't want to spend more than 4 lakhs. In Indigo CS Tata has cut down the overall length of existing Indigo to avail the tax benefits of small car for the Indigo CS. Tata Motors dubs the new Indigo CS as the "World's most compact sedan". Now, Tata Motors has launched new Indigo e-CS which has been upgraded with some new features and minor facelift which includes new headlamps, new alloy wheels, all new beige interiors, electric outside rear view mirrors, integrated turn indicators in outside rear view mirrors, all new front grille, new instrument cluster, new engines and music system with Bluetooth and aux port. Clever and efficient design has made it possible to encapsulate this entire package within the four metre length, making Indigo e-CS a complete package to address the combined demands of space and maneuverability in our congested cities. Tata Motors, today, launched the Tata Indigo e-CS VX, the most fuel-efficient sedan in the country, with a mileage of 25kmpl, certified by the Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI). With a host of other exciting features in the car, the Tata Indigo e-CS VX is a new trim in the Tata Indigo e-CS range. It sports the all-new CR4 common rail diesel engine that has a displacement of 1,396cc delivering 70PS @ 4,000rpm. With a higher torque of 140nm at a lower 1,800-3,000rpm, improvements in gear ratios, clutch-to-start and reduction in the weight of the car by around 10kg, the Tata Indigo e-CS VX ensures better pickup. The Tata Indigo e-CS VX is also available with the MPFi petrol engine. Both these engines are compliant with BS4 emission norms.
