The new Tata Indigo eCS has attained a new milestone in terms of mileage. The new Tata Indigo eCS VX delivers a mileage of 25 kmpl as per ARAI. The CRDi engine powered new Tata Indigo eCS delivers a mileage of 22.0 kmpl in the city and 25 kmpl on the highways. New Tata Indigo eCS powered by a TDi BSIII engine delivers a city mileage of 13.6 kmpl and 18.3 kmpl on the highways. The petrol MPFi powered new Tata Indigo eCS has an average of 15.0 kmpl in the city and 18.0 kmpl on the long run. The diesel variants of the new Tata Indigo eCS catches 0 to 100 kmph speed in just 18 seconds while the petrol variants of the Indigo eCS touch the 100 kmph mark in just a second earlier in 17 seconds. On the outside, the onlookers nowhere sense that the new Tata Indigo eCS is some compact form of a sedan. However, the boot that finishes too early for the car to be called a true sedan. Though following its inspiration from the hatchback and its small size it has been christened as world’s smallest sedan. Among the exterior features of the new Tata Indigo eCS include, Tinted Glasses, Body Coloured Bumpers, Chrome garnished Rub Rails, hood in chrome, Demister at the rear, Front and rear fog lamps, wheel caps full, turn indicators on the body colored, electri- cally adjustable ORVMs (Outer Rear View Mirrors). The new Tata Indigo eCS is available in pleasant Dual Tone-Beige & Coco Brown Interiors as well as fabric seats, partial fabric and full fabric options. There are storage pockets on the front/rear doors besides bottle cup holders. There is also a front power outlet in addition to front and rear cabin lamps and vanity mirror on co-driver side. At the rear as well, the new Tata Indigo has comfortable seating for two/ three persons. There is also a rear hand rest that can be folded to house three persons. New Tata Indigo eCS has three engine options and it is available in both diesel and petrol variants. In diesel, the new Tata Indigo eCS has two engine options. First is the Common Rail CR4, 16 valve DOHC BSIV compliant engine. This engine has a displacement of 1396cc and a power of 70PS of power at as low as 4000rpm. This diesel engine is able to produce a maximum torque of 140Nm at 1800-3000rpm. This CR4 diesel engine is quite fuel-efficient and delivers 25 kmpl of mileage. A TDi diesel option is also available. The TDI is a turbocharged engine with intercooler. It can produce a maximum power of 70PS at 4500rpm. This engine complies with BSIII pollution norms and has a maximum torque of 135Nm that it churns at 2500rpm. In the petrol option, the new Tata Indigo eCS has MPFI (Multi Point Fuel Injection System) that is controlled by a microprocessor in order to give it the perfect timing. This petrol engine has a displacement of 1193cc a maximum power of 65PS and a maximum torque of 100Nm at 2700rpm.
