Tata Motors might endow Tata Nano with a more powerful and sportier engine with a displacement of 800 cc by early next year. This will ameliorate Tata Nano from the league of a common man’s car to the gang of entry level hatchbacks like Maruti Alto, Hyundai Eon, etc as all of them sport a near 800 cc motor. The existing 624 cc engine of Nano attracts complaints of faulty make up every now and then. The new engine which is supposed to be in the pipeline will mainly target urban audience and the current Nano is expected to continue, however, their focus will shift on semi-urban and rural markets. At present, Tata Nano price ranges between Rs 1.27 Lakh-Rs 1.96 Lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The 800 cc Nano will surely be tagged around Rs 2.40 lakh. The refreshed Tata Nano now gets a more power engine that is also better on the fuel economy. The seating is more comfortable and comes with adjustable headrests for the front seats. Overall, the refreshed Nano gets more features and a slightly higher price and still remains one of the best city cars you can buy for least money.
