Tata Safari 4x2 VX DICOR BS-IV

Tata Motors was concentrating on making utility vehicles like the Sumo, Sierra and later on followed by the Safari in the latter half of 1990-2000. Tata had then launched its Safari with a 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine that produced 90bhp. Later, on Tata Motors had even introduced an option of 2.1-litre, 135bhp petrol engine on its Safari, which didn’t impress many buyers due to its lower mileage. The Tata Safari has being undergoing facelifts and Tata Motors has retained the same chassis design of its Safari. The Safari design looked fresh and contemporary a few years back, and now Tata Motors is working on an all new Tata Safari which will be launched sometime in mid-2011. Tata Safari is said to be one of the most luxurious model providing utmost comfort. Adjustable light intensity on instrumental panel, dark graphite and perforated tan leather seats and power windows are the attractive features of the new Tata Safari. Safety features that are available with it include airbags, ABS (Antilock Brake System) with EBD (Electronic Brake-Force Distribution) and reverse guide system. Apart from this, crash safety features are also present in the new Tata Safari. The Tata Safari, in its model year 2010, has been made BS IV compliant along with slight upgrades to the exteriors and refreshments to the interiors. The exterior enhancements include chrome plated grill and chrome plated ORVMs. The interiors have been completely refreshed in a dual dark graphite and beige theme with tan-coloured leather upholstery and door inserts, a new instrument cluster and faux wood in the centre console. The top of the line Safari already comes with ABS, dual airbags, reverse guide system and DVD/MP3 system with dual LCD screens. Considering the pricing of the Tata Safari, it is a good value for money SUV, as you get a good peppy engine, spacious interiors with good ride. However, Tata needs to work a bit more on the plastic quality on the inside of the Safari and even on the turning radius of the car to a certain extent.
