Audi A4 2012 1.8 TFSI Multitronic
The popular mid-sized premium sedan, the Audi A4, was refreshed only a month ago. As part of this update came an all-new 1.8 TFSI petrol engine that is laden with the very latest in fuel-saving technology. A combination of direct and indirect fuel injection offers drivers the best of both worlds: maximum fuel efficiency while cruising, with the sporty performance expected of an Audi when it’s required. Modular efficiency technologies like start-stop save fuel when the car is stationary. The model equipped with the multitronic continuously variable transmission is being offered for test drives at the 2012 GreenZone event and ensures the perfect balance is struck between fuel efficiency and sporty performance. Its fuel consumption figures are comparable with many vehicles in smaller segments, sipping just 5.8 litres per 100km and emitting only 134 g/km of CO2. With a substantial 125kW and 320Nm of power and torque, the 1.8 TFSI engine is a great example of Audi’s ‘efficiency as standard’ maxim that is present in every vehicle that bears the famous four rings on its nose. That core vehicle just got a major facelift including meaningful improvements with fuel consumption down by an average 15 per cent across all models with three new engines on offer. The exterior and interior have been face-lifted and the new LED daytime running lights in a lighting strip have a distinct `angry' look to them, complementing a flatter, more horizontal front. Down back, the tail lights are now more horizontal also and in line with industry trends there is more chrome, even on simple items like the interior boot release surround. By implementing more horizontal lines to the car Audi has given the A4 a flatter, more aggressive and purposeful appearance.
